Masters No #GRE Required

No GRE Required

For anyone looking up graduate schools, one of the biggest reliefs is to discover the program you’re interested in does not require the GRE.
You mean I can forget cramming over the study guide, dishing out money for an expensive prep course, and stressing about the GRE and start applying to grad schools … right now!?
Many master’s and even PhD programs either do not require the GRE or will allow you to waive the test if, instead, you can show one of the following:
  • a high GPA from undergrad
  • experience in the field (ranging from 2-5 years)
  • an advanced degree (master’s, doctorate, M.D., J.D.) in any field.
I appreciate schools that value your proven successes over one exam. Which is why I have created a list of grad schools that don’t require the GRE or GMAT. By skipping these tests, you can save yourself thousands of dollars — $200-$1,000 on a prep course and $150-$250 on the test — not to mention the more than 100 hours it reputedly takes to prep for the GMAT.
Some programs listed also have rolling admissions, which means you can apply any time, and they accept students until the class is full. This means that, after scratching the GRE off your list, you could be sitting in your first master’s class within the year.
Want a master’s but don’t have a bachelor’s degree in the same field? No problem. Many programs are used to accepting career changers and require applicants to simply complete a few prerequisite courses in the new field to be eligible to apply.
Finally, just in case you’re worried these GRE-lax programs have bad reputations, rest assured that there are prestigious names on the list, such as Columbia, Penn, MIT, Villanova, UC Berkeley, NYU, and Johns Hopkins, to name a few.

If you're seeking an admission without GRE for any major please send us email and we'll provide you with the options.
